A fantastic start at the first mixed tour saw Lemmings take a strong team down to Reading for the first official UKU event of the season.
First game was Lemmings vs Deep (Half of the Deep Space WUCC roster with some strong additions in the shape of Spice legend Emily Potter)
After a slow start from Lemmings and a misconnection issues, Deep were leading 3-0. A small shake up in the defence saw a big rally from the squad for great reward as Lemmings took half leading 7-4. With not much time left in the game, Lemmings were able to see out a very professional second half to take the game 9-6.
Lemmings 9 - 6 Deep Space 1
The momentum carries on strong and Lemmimgs take advantage of a sleep Reading Mixed side (Again another half WUCC squad). A fantastic start leads to Reading calling a time-out from 4-0 down. Out of the half there was a real battle on as both sides were coming away with some very clean offence and some spectacularly athletic plays. Lemmings seem to have too much and Reading can't do anything to close the gap in the score. The game ends a very comfortable 11-6.
Lemmings 11 - 6 Reading 2
A change of field, and we're now facing some blustery conditions; it's not as clean as we would have liked, but Lemmings put to bed a very scrappy 11-6 win against a very experienced herd masters.
Lemmings 11 - 6 Herd Masters
Thats top of the pool, and currently sitting in 2nd place, Lemmings head off to the Final.
The game starts well as Lemmings lead by a break thanks to a callahan thanks to Swansea big dog, Ryan Kapma. The game stay close but Reading sneak away just before half with a couple of well earned breaks. Injury and illness have left the Lemmings squad a bit thinner than the morning games. The reading team don't seem to drop any athletisism and continue to run hard through the later stages of the game. A couple of unfortunate turns give Reading a couple of breaks to see the game end 11-6 the wrong way around this time.
